Who is behind Tara and the general conditions of this website.

Owner

In accordance with article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services and e-commerce (LSSI-CE), these are the details of Tara's owner:

Purpose

Tara is a free web app to estimate energy expenditure, log meals, weight and physical activity, and learn how the body works. Its use is governed by this legal notice, the terms of use, the privacy policy and the cookie policy.

Health information

Tara's content is general information based on published studies. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and Tara is not a medical device. If you have an illness, are pregnant, injured, have an eating disorder or take medication, consult a healthcare professional.

Intellectual and industrial property

Tara's design, texts, code and name belong to its owner or are used under licence. They may not be reproduced, distributed or transformed for commercial purposes without permission. Third-party trademarks, studies and data cited belong to their respective owners; food composition data comes from the Anses Ciqual table (2025), and packaged product data from Open Food Facts, available under the Open Database License. Open Food Facts data is contributed by volunteers and may contain errors.

Links

Tara links to studies and third-party websites so you can check the information. The owner does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content.

Affiliate links and donations

Tara is free. To keep it going, some supplement recommendations may include affiliate links to Amazon, labelled “Affiliate link”: if you buy through them, the owner may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, the owner earns from qualifying purchases. Recommendations are based on scientific evidence and do not change whether or not there is a link. A link to make a voluntary donation may also appear; it does not unlock any extra features.

The owner tries to keep the information accurate and up to date, but does not guarantee it is error-free or that the service will always be available. See the liability section of the terms of use.
